Our Doctors
Dr. Tim Fleming, Medical Director
Dr. Tim Fleming is a 1995 graduate from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Mississippi State University. His areas of interest include laser surgery, dermatology, and small animal orthopedic surgery. He received advanced training at the University of Tennessee Orthopedic Skills Course.
Dr. Fleming is a member of the Mississippi Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Memphis-Shelby County Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Veterinary Laser Society. He is active in both the Mississippi Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association, and has served in elected representative roles in both associations. He was voted the 2005 MVMA Young Veterinarian of the Year by his peers. Dr. Fleming and his family are long term residents of Desoto county, and Dr. Fleming has provided veterinary care to pets in Southaven and Desoto County since 2003.
Dr. Bailey Fleming Poling
Dr. Bailey Fleming Poling is a graduate of the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the Mississippi Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA), and the Memphis-Shelby County Veterinary Medical Association (MSCVMA).
Dr. Poling lives in Hernando. When she isn't working, Dr. Bailey enjoys traveling with her husband, Dr. Ryan Poling, and spending time with her son, dogs Winston and Talulah, and their cats, Steve, Bob, and Flo.
Dr. Ryan Poling
Dr. Ryan Poling is a graduate of the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the Mississippi Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA), and the Memphis-Shelby County Veterinary Medical Association (MSCVMA).
Dr. Poling is a native of West Virginia, and moved to Mississippi to attend veterinary school after graduating from West Virginia University. He is married to Dr. Bailey Poling and the live in Hernando with their son, two dogs, and three cats.
Dr. Courtney Dorris
Dr. Dorris is a graduate of the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She is a member of both the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Mississippi Veterinary Medical Association.
She is a native of Olive Branch, Mississippi. She and her husband Robert have two rescue dogs, Brody and Annie.
Outside of work, Dr. Dorris likes to outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking, and canoeing.
Support Staff
Marla - Practice Manager
Marla is our Practice Manager, and with 29 years in veterinary medicine, Marla's expertise spans large animal care, avian and pocket pet hospitals, and equine anesthesia. For the past decade, she has served as Practice Manager at Chisholm Trail Veterinary Clinic, in Texas.
Married for almost 30 years, Marla enjoys fishing and shares her home with her cat, Tewa. Her wealth of experience and leadership make her a vital member of our team.
Jordan
Jordan has been a member of our veterinary team since 2019, working primarily as a skilled surgery technician. She takes pride in providing attentive, high-quality care to every patient before, during, and after procedures. Outside of work, Jordan enjoys spending quality time with her husband, daughter, and their beloved American Bully, as well as relaxing with friends and family.
Michelle
Michelle has been a part of Hernando Animal Clinic for 8 years and is one of the warm, friendly faces clients meet when they walk through the door. She earned her VRCE credentials to better support the families and pets the clinic serves, and she also helps create many of the social media posts that highlight the heart of the practice. Outside of work, she enjoys life with her husband, Mark, and their sweet kitties, Bessie and Annie.
Jerrilynn
Jerrilynn has been with Hernando Animal Clinic since 2020. She has three wonderful kids, Ashlynn, Kimber and Levi, a horse named Triton, and a mini Aussie named Wheeler.
Jerrilynn's interests outside of work are spending time on with her family on their boat and riding horses with friends.
Sarah
Sarah grew up in Collierville, TN, and now calls Batesville, MS, her home. She has always had a love for those who don’t have a voice, which inspired her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. Sarah has been with the Hernando Animal Clinic team since 2020 and is currently working toward becoming a Certified Veterinary Technician, with a special niche in surgical technician work, which she finds especially rewarding.
Sarah and her boyfriend Cody share their lives with 2 boxers, Sadie and Kasey, and a blue heeler named Fancy.
Abbie
Abbie has been working in veterinary medicine since 2017 and became part of our clinic family in 2019. She’s married to her husband, Anthony, and together they have a daughter, Penelope. At home, Abbie stays busy with her horses, dogs, and even a lizard. In her free time, she enjoys horseback riding and fishing.
Kim
Kim currently resides in Memphis, where she loves Harry Potter and spending time with her dog, Montana, and cat, Snacks.
Outside of work, Kim likes concerts, playing with pets, listening to music, and binge watching Harry Potter.
Mia
Mia was born in Greensville, MS, but has seen the world over. When she lived in the Caribbean, her love for animals spiked after seeing how they had been mistreated. From that moment on, Mia vowed to dedicate the rest of her life to giving animals a voice. Currently a student at Ole Miss University of Mississippi, Mia is studying hard to become a veterinarian. Outside of the clinic, Mia's favorite hobbies are thrift-shopping, binge-watching Netflix, and traveling with her family.
Laura
Laura joined us in 2023 as a receptionist. With over 2 years of experience in the veterinary field, Laura brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for working with animals.
Prior to her career in veterinary medicine, Laura worked in retail management for over 25 years and was awarded "Store Manager of the Year" several times. She graduated from Bella Vista High School in California and also attended Sierra College. In her free time, Laura enjoys spending time with her family, going to the movies, shopping, and playing with her two Yorkies named Wall-e and GusGus.
Taylor
Taylor was born and raised in the Desoto county area. She graduated from the Veterinary Technologist program at Mississippi State University in 2019 and came to Hernando Animal clinic in 2024. She is married to her wonderful husband, Joe, and they have 3 dogs together, Stormy, Rocket, and Gamora. Outside of work, Taylor loves to read, play video games, and spend time with her husband and dogs.
Sam
Sam is a dedicated member of the Hernando Animal Clinic team, known for her hardworking and compassionate nature. She consistently goes above and beyond to support her coworkers, even on long days when the demands are high.
Sam's passion for animal care shines through in every moment, especially when working with pets that are sweet and gentle—or sometimes, a little more energetic than expected. Whether it's the quiet moments or the busy walk-in hours, Sam approaches each day with a smile, always ready to lend a hand to both the animals and her team.
Sydney
Sydney has been a part of Hernando Animal Clinic for almost 7 years and truly loves what she does. Outside of work, she is a proud mom to her daughter, Hadlee, as well as 4 dogs and a horse. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors and hanging out with family and friends.
Shelley
With an unofficial PhD in foster failing, Shelley is excited to welcome pets (and their humans) with warmth, patience, and smiles. At home, she’s ruled by three rescued strays and has a well-documented soft spot for senior dogs. Shelley is the proud wife of a 23-year Army veteran and the self-appointed CEO of an empty nest, now that her two boys are grown. She is a lover of travel, hiking, and all things fitness.
Rayanna
Rayanna loves animals and is a veterinary technician at Hernando Animal Clinic. She has a balance of both extroverted and introverted qualities and is known for her kind, compassionate nature. Rayanna has a big heart for animals and would love to save them all and give each one a loving home.
tara
Tara is down to earth and always makes everyone smile with her silly jokes. She is always prepared to help and assist. She makes a friend of all the patients she meets even if it's not reciprocated at the time.
hope
Hope has been a technician since 2014. Her favorite animals to work with are cats. Hope has three cats, four horses, and 12 chickens. She also enjoys gardening outside of work.
